NG080 Series Reciprocating Gas Compressors
The NG080 Series of single-cylinder, single-stage reciprocating gas compressors features two different models, the NG082 for natural gas and the NGS082 for sour gases of up to 8% dry H₂S. The NG080 Series Gas Compressors offer a flow rate of 8.45 CFM (14.35 m³/hr) at max rpm. Constructed with a single distance piece between two sets of seals on each piston rod, all NG Series Gas Compressors provide optimal leakage control and prevent oil contamination of the compressed gas stream. Ports are provided in the distance piece chamber for purging, pressurizing, or venting.

The single and two stage reciprocating gas compressors create a low-pressure area in the pumping chamber when the piston moves from the highest point of the stroke to the lowest point. Gaseous product (at a higher pressure in the tank) moves into the pumping chamber of the gas compressor. This volume of gas is then displaced when the piston moves to the top of the stroke. Equipped with high efficiency valves, ductile iron pistons, self-adjusting piston rod seals and other robust features, these reciprocating gas compressors are designed to provide maximum performance and reliability under the most severe service conditions. They are also a critical component in the design of oil and gas vapor recovery units (VRUs).
These reciprocating gas compressors are available in three model series – LB, HD and NG. The LB Series is ideal for the transfer and recovery of gases including propane, butane, LPG and anhydrous ammonia. The HD Series Reciprocating Gas Compressors are suited for the movement, transfer and recovery of industrial gases such as carbon dioxide and refrigerants, nitrogen, air, and numerous other industrial, petrochemical, and hazardous gases. The NG Series Reciprocating Gas Compressors are built for usage with natural gases in the oilfields and with VRU (vapor recovery units).
